News for your start in the 2026/27 academic year

The tests for programmes with an entrance exam procedure take place from 6 July 2026 onwards. The application period is from 2 March to 4 May 2026.

    Deadline: 2 March to 4 May 2026

    The application period has ended. There is no extension period. You can only take part in this year’s entrance exam/aptitude test procedure if you applied within the application period.

    Please note: The entrance exam and aptitude test procedure only take place once per academic year!

  • Step 3

    Written tests: From 6 July 2026 onwards

    The written tests take place on site in Vienna. We will inform you until the end of this year about the exact test dates. There are no alternative dates. Therefore, make sure to keep the test day free! 

    Note: The entrance exam and aptitude test procedures of the University of Vienna only take place once per academic year!

  • Step 4

    Results: Around 2 weeks after the test 

    We will send your test result via e-mail. If you were successful, you will receive info about your further steps for your admission and starting your studies. 

    The winter semester always starts on 1 October.

What does entrance exam and aptitude test procedure mean?

The University of Vienna conducts an entrance exam or aptitude test procedure for certain bachelor's and diploma programmes. This means: a written test will take place in July 2026.
