Accessible entrance exam/aptitude test procedure
It is important to us that all prospective students have equal access to our range of degree programmes. Does a disability or impairment limit your ability to take part in the entrance exam/aptitude test procedure? We will provide you with individual support and adapt the test to your needs.
On this page, we will show you what you need to bear in mind, how to report your needs and what deadlines apply. Please let us know your needs directly when you submit your application so that we can work together to create the best possible conditions for you.

How do I submit my request for special testing accommodations?
Select your desired degree programme from the list of degree programmes with entrance exam procedure/aptitude test. There you will find information about the required documents, step-by-step instructions for your application for admission to a degree programme, and everything else you need to know about the entrance exam procedure/aptitude test.
Submit your application for admission in u:space and pay the administration fee. Select “Submit application.” You will then be registered for the entrance exam procedure/aptitude test.
After you have submitted your application, a window will open in u:space. There you will be informed about the possibility of participating in an evaluation. Further down in the text, you will find a link to the request for accommodations form. Select this link to be redirected to the Servicedesk. Log in to the Servicedesk with your u:account and let us know what accomodations you need. Upload your medical specialist assessments. We also accept assessments of psychotherapists and clinical psychologists.

You will receive written notice via e-mail within a few days. Each type of disability is unique. Adaptations to testing will be made on a case-by-case basis. Hence, we will coordinate any special accommodations and their technical implementation with you. We will then inform you about the next steps in the entrance exam/aptitude test procedure.
What counts as an impairment? How are testing procedures adapted?

Examples for impairments
This list is only exemplary and not to be taken as a full account of all possible impairments.
- Vision impairment
- Hearing impairment (to such a degree, that announcements at the testing venue might not be heard clearly)
- Impaired gross and/or fine motor skills (e.g. paraplegia, spasms and/or myasthenia)
- Cognitive or mental impairment (e.g. attentiveness and/or anxiety disorders)
- Learning disorders (e.g. dyslexia)
- Illnesses that require special equipment (e.g. diabetes)

Examples for testing accommodations
- Smaller rooms with and quieter testing environment
- Extension of the test time (only possible in the smaller testing rooms)
- Additional items (e.g. medication, medical devices, vision aids, writing aids)
- Adjustments of the test documents (e.g. larger type size, special fonts, digital version)
- Special testing equipment (e.g. laptops and screens, desks suitable for wheelchairs)
- Specific seating (e.g. at the edge, at the front or back, close to the bathrooms)
- Translation in Austrian Sign Language (ÖGS)

Step 1
Before the written test
No later than 14 days before the test date, we will send you the admission confirmation and the access plan for the test rooms. In this email, we will also inform you which items are permitted during the test.

Step 2
Your admission on the test day
You will find your time slot and access point on your admission confirmation. We will meet you there, verify your identity, and then accompany you to your test room.

Step 3
The written test
In the test room, you will have a few minutes to settle in. The test administrators will then read out the instructions, including all the details regarding the examination process
At least one supervisor will be in the room with you throughout the duration of the exam.

Step 4
After the written test
Once the test time has expired, we collect the documents and check that they are complete. We will escort you back to the exit.
After the test has been evaluated, you will receive an email about the next steps in the admission procedure.
